Alright, this is where I post my Scribble Ideas. Don't take them!
A girl who find a boys journal with no name in it on a city bus, reads it and falls in love and her search for the boy. (Not very good)
----------------
There was a couple with children and then slowly, the wife (or husband) start becoming more and more possessive of the children. Then one day, they stop the other one from seeing them altogether. After a while and suspicious behaviour, (make sure you wind the story out nicely) the spouse goes to check on the children and find their stripped carcasses hanging from the roof.
----------------
A school kid has a near-death experience; he is hit by a bus and is clinically dead for 10 minutes before paramedics revive him.
Once recovered and back at school, he sometimes zones out and starts uttering what seems like nonsense.
Your main character takes the time to listen to him, and figures out that he is foretelling events before they happen.
One Monday, he prophesizes that a full busload of kindergarteners, on their way home from a field trip on Friday, will skid off the road and plunge into ther frozen river; all will die. Your main character is the only one who hears the prophecy, and she/he tries to warn everyone (maybe he/she has a young sister who is supposed to go) - but no one will believe her - not even her parents. She/he is the laughingstock at school, and she/he begins to doubt the prophesy until Thursday, when she accidentally overhears the young prophet uttering another vision - he sees the main character is going to die, even before the bus accident.
-----------------
A girl and her family are driving across country to visit some family, and they are driving through the night. She gets tired and falls asleep. She wakes up in the morning to find the car stopped in the middle of a wheat field. The doors are open. There's blood on the seat next to her, where her younger sister was sitting. And there's more blood splattered all over the front. No sign of mom or dad, nor little sister.
She gets out and follows a blood trail. She comes across the body of her father. His head and arms are missing, but she can tell its her dad from his clothes. Further out, she finds her mother and sister. They've been torn to pieces.
She's freaking out. She goes back to the car and follows the trail of crushed wheat back to the road. It's out in the middle of nowhere. There aren't any cars or trucks, not even any houses in the distance.
-------------------
A piano that corrupts the soul somehow. When you play it, you slowly find yourself becoming more and more drawn to it, you stop eating drinking and finally, its just your malnutritioned corpse playing a tune that at the very end you reveal as a convoluted Death March. The final image could be a stripped skull with a smile, the decomposing fingers still playing at the keys
------------------
Elisia, the youngest child of the King of Terisia, is fleeing the burning remains of her kingdom, her family dead behind her. However, this isn't the typcial evil empire or power-mad king story, her own father gradually went insane. No one knows the cause - he'd been a good and kind king and there was no history of insanity in his family. However, his lucid moments became rarer and rarer and he became cruel and paranoid. Finally, in disgust with his excesses, the people rose up against him and destroyed his army and the royal family itself. Elisia herself witnessed her father's death, and at the moment of his death, something dark passed from him to her, leaving a stylized mark on her hand.
Through the sacrifice of the loyal guardsman, Elisia was able to escape the burning palace, and fled deep into the mountains to a place known as Sanctuary, a sacred spot that was rumored to help those who were in desperate need of protection. Sanctuary is a great henge, a circle of stone monoliths with a single trilithon set in the center like a gate to nowhere. But looking through the gate, she can see a country very different from her own...
(Probably change her name for this one)
-------------------
There is a legend passed on to generations, legends of strange beings. Creatures that will come at the end of the world. No one knows what they look like, or what they are. But, things change. The creatures are said to be called Jyaus. And only one can tame them.
Meanwhile, Rayna is an average peasent girl in the land of Sahraba. She lives on her father's farm, doing the work, and dreaming of what dwells in the forest near her home. When her father dies, her world is torn apart and she must flee to the forest with only the knowlage of what her father has told her. Soon, she finds she must question that knowlage. She finds a friend in the woods. A friend that is not human. And with only that friend for guidence, Rayna must question everything she knows and ask a question: What happens when legends are true?
(Again, probably change the names for this one as well)

(One of my friends, Tabby, let me use this idea)
Starts in a forest on an Island where the elvish colony has set up up a school of magic, which accepts both elves and some humans. In this settlement is a girl who doesn't know her parents. Shes an orphan and so has problems getting enrolled within the school. She had reasonable skill with a blade. In an attemt to get away from a human who wishes for a relationship with her, she leaves seeking news of her parents. Along with her is the Lords son, an elf who is falling in love. They leave the island and in doing so they meet different clans of elves, dryads, dwarfs and dark elves. The humans ignore them on their journey. They gain companions from some of the mythical clans and they finally recieve news of her parents. They however find themselves in the middle of a human war that slowly begins to include all the mythical kind too. To try and stop the myhicals from being wiped out in a futile attempt of defence, they divert from their quest and go to find the dragons who live i the far northern mountains.
